Traveling to Hoi An ancient town, you can choose to go by many different means: plane, train, bus, passenger car or private vehicles.
- Plane: To get to Hoi An fastest, you take a flight to Da Nang airport because this is the closest airport to Hoi An (about 30km). From Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, there are many airlines exploiting this route such as: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, …. Flight time is about 85 minutes. If you want to hunt for cheap tickets, you should research and book tickets about 3-6 months in advance.
- Train: You can choose to take the train to Da Nang station. If departing from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, the travel time lasts about 14 – 17 hours. Ticket prices range from 400,000 to 1,800,000 VND depending on the type of train and seat type.
- Bus: If you want to save more money, you can choose the bus of reputable bus operators such as Mai Linh, Hoang Long, Thuan Thao. However, if you go from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, it will take 18-20 hours. Ticket prices range from 400,000 to 500,000 VND.
- Bus: Because the airport or train station to Hoi An are in Da Nang, there will be very convenient bus routes to move between these two locations.
- Bus route 01 (Da Nang – Hoi An bus station):

Bus route 14 (Tam Ky – Hoi An):

Personal vehicle: If you want to have an active trip, you can choose to go by motorbike or car. Hoi An is about 30km from Da Nang, the road is quite flat, there are beautiful coastal roads that you can refer to such as: Da Nang – Tran Thi Ly bridge – turn to Vo Nguyen Giap street – go straight – Hoi An city, or follow National Highway 1A to the South – Vinh Dien Street – turn left along Huynh Thuc Khang Street – Hoi An.
